Released in mid-2020, Retroid’s first horizontal device helped to spark a modern renaissance in handheld emulation. Its chief drawback is its weak processing power, which led the manufacturer to release the more powerful Retroid Pocket 2+. Rather than buying a new device RP2 customers could purchase a DIY upgrade kit in order to swap out the motherboard in the shell they already owned.
