Anbernic Makes The RG406 H Official
The new 4-inch handheld will run Android with a 720p and some solid power under the hood.
Anbernic has confirmed rumors of the RG406 H, the newest emulation handheld in its flagship line.
This is an Android device, the much requested horizontal version of the company’s RG406 V — released in September. Like it’s sibling, the H comes with Android 13 and is powered by UNISOC’s Tiger T820 — the same chip that is in the RG406 V, as well as the company’s RG556 and RG Cube devices.
Pre-orders should begin this month. In a post on its website Anbernic said that the device will be available in white, black, and transparent purple. It comes with a 4-inch IPS touchscreen, with a resolution of 960×720. The dual analog sticks have customizable RGB lighting, and (like the RG Cube) this device uses the disc-style D-pad that will be familiar to Sega kids.
The T820 processor offers just about the most emulation power in the sub-$200 budget handheld space, able to play Dreamcast, Game Cube, PSP, and older systems as well as some limited Wii, 3DS, and even PS2 emulation. And of course the RG406 H should be great for native Android gaming.
