Miyoo’s Next Two Handhelds Might Be Released Simultaneously

One retailer says that the Miyoo A30 and the Flip are both due to arrive in the second half of April.

UPDATE 7/16/2024: Miyoo says that their long-awaited Flip device is now expected to arrive in late July. The original story follows …

We’re eagerly waiting for not just one but two brand new, pocketable retro devices from Miyoo, the company that made a big splash on the emulation scene with the adorable Miyoo Mini and the not-quite-so-adorable Miyoo Mini+.

Last week the company made it known that its upcoming clamshell device, the long-rumored Miyoo Flip (or will it be called the Miyoo Mini Flip?), is real … but it will be beat to market by the Miyoo A30. That one is a horizontal candy bar-style handheld, which looks to be about the size of a Game Boy Micro.

Today the online retailer Go Game Geek posted a new image of the Flip to Twitter, and outlined what they have heard about the upcoming releases:

Go Game Geek says that the Miyoo Flip is looking at an estimated retail release between April 15 and April 21. And the A30 should be available between April 15 and April 29.

So the Flip might just barely beat the A30 to market (at least at this particular retailer) — or the two new devices could arrive more or less at the same time.

Go Game Geek also said that they expect the original Miyoo Mini (version 3) to be restocked at the same time, between April 15 and 21.

The new image of the Flip shows off the device’s Game Boy Advance SP inspirations. While we don’t know for certain if this white model with gray accents and rainbow face buttons is actually one of the colorways that will be available to customers … yeah, I’d buy this is a hot second.

The Flip comes with dual analog sticks at the bottom of the control scheme, flanking Start and Select buttons and a center speaker. The Miyoo logo appears be to embossed on the top lid.

There’s still no work from Miyoo on the specs or performance expectations, or the price of either of its new devices. Stick with Retro Dock and follow us on Twitter for the latest!
